My $63 glasses
I know, I should probably invest what I saved into a dermatologist appointment....
I ran across Glassy Eyes around December of last year and have been trying to coordinate having my pupillary distance read by my Optician Technician friend since. You see, there are people out there who sell glasses with a prescription for $7.95 on up. I've known that the mark-up of glasses frames was well above a keystone and as I'm trying to be frugal, I really didn't want to pay $300 for a pair of glasses. I was rather skeptical at first, but after reading through his site and others' comments about their experience, I decided to take the plunge. For $40, I didn't think I could go wrong - especially if everything worked out.
I ordered glasses from 39DollarGlasses.com on the 14th and they arrived today. I think they may be a little too big for my face, but for $63 bucks, I'm pretty happy (I added a reflective coating for $25). Of course, I've only had them on for 20 minutes.... I'll let you know if I develop excruciating headaches because the script was wrong or something.
